Create your first track

The whole thing lives in Banger Lab. You need an idea; everything else is optional.

The recipe

Pick a genre, a mood, a tempo, some instruments. The prompt builds itself as you go, and you can edit it directly at any point — once you do, it stops rebuilding, so your words stay your words.

Type anything. The pickers suggest from a library, but they don't limit you. Swamp rock. Goblin folk. Washboard. "Menacing but hopeful." If it isn't in the list it still goes through exactly as you typed it — the music model decides what it means, not our list.

Two genres is a mashup and often the most interesting thing you can do. Three is mud.

Stuck? Hit surprise me. It rolls from a curated table of combinations that actually work together, rather than picking at random, so you get something coherent to start editing.

Where it files on the board

Underneath your free-text genre, every track gets filed under one of the board's fixed categories so people can browse. The Lab guesses from your genre and shows you the guess — "Files on the board under". If it guessed wrong, change it. Invented genres it can't place land under Experimental.

Lyrics

Set vocals to anything other than "no vocals" and the lyrics writer appears. Type what the song is about in plain words, pick a structure, and hit write.

It's free and unlimited, and it happens before you pay for anything. Everything it produces is editable — change a line, rewrite one section, or rewrite the lot. Nothing regenerates over an edit you've made. See Lyrics tips.

Generating

Generation costs $1.40, paid in SOL before the track is made. You approve it in your wallet. If the vendor fails to produce audio, you get a free retry — see Payments & retries.

Then you wait a few minutes and you hear it.

Launching is optional

This is the part people miss. Generating a track and launching it as a token are two separate decisions. You can make a track, listen to it, and never launch it. Nothing is on-chain and nothing is public until you choose to launch.

If you do want to launch it, see Launch a track.
